Greetings!
My name is Brandon Holmes, and I am a 25 year old graphic designer hailing from Orange County, New York. Growing up, my greatest passion was for the sport I would turn on to my television every night at 7:00 PM – hockey. I became entrenched in all things hockey – the teams, the players, and arguably the singular thing that’s had the greatest impact on my life, the logos. From an early age, I was constantly drawing existing and creating my own logos, and as I got older, this interest became a full blown passion as I wanted to learn the anatomy of what goes behind professional design.
I went away to Oswego State in the Fall of 2015, preparing to complete my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and it’s there where I would truly become the artist I am today. For me, it became more than just logo design, as I discovered mediums such as 2D and 3D animation, booklet and layout design, and refined my existing skills in illustration, photography, and studio art. It’s at Oswego were I became the artist and professional I am today, honing a versatile set of skills that I was ready to apply to my professional career following my graduation in May of 2017.
Prior to my graduation, I began working on the side as a freelance artist, where I met and worked with some truly great people, and perhaps among the most important relationships I formed was with Tammy Wilkinson, the owner of a dinner theatre group known as Theatre Du Jour. Following work with her where I helped her create posters and branding for some of her shows, Tammy was able to help me land my first full-time design job, LeRoi, Inc. Serving as LeRoi’s graphic department, I’ve been able to continuously grow the company’s image with clean, elegant design, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my professional career than as a professional designer.
Design has accounted for such a large piece of my adult life, and it’s passion I will continue to pursue for as long as I can see. Design is a part of who I am, and always will be.
